Y12 Visit to Cambridge

Thursday 2nd December Morning:
Drop off at Fitzwilliam Museum - 1-1/2 hours
This visit is a cultural experience underpinning studies in Art, History, Sociology and humanities. Exhibit: Gold of the Great Streppe and Juxtaposition - free entrance to both and general galleries

Walk to Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
KS5 -90 minute guided tour. Discussion based session examines relationship between museum and people, current issues with collections, curation and repatriation. Students learn how collections come to the museum and the navigation of ethics of display. Followed by independent investigation of galleries.

Students go to lunch - approx 1.00 pm

PM - Cultural 1.30-1.45
Visit to the Corpus Clock (Grasshopper clock) outside Taylor Library, Corpus Christi College (where current Y13 Alex has applied), officially unveiled to the public in 2008 by Cambridge Physicist, Stephen Hawking.
