Year 9 - Airbus Flying Challenge Launch Event

We are pleased to be able to invite parents to join us for the official launch of the Airbus Foundation Flying Challenge on Wednesday 25th September, 10.00 – 11.00am. At the launch you will hear more about this fantastic initiative, meet the volunteers as well as hearing from three times Olympic Medallist Kriss Akabusi MBE and Space Scientist, Explorer, Mountaineer and the winner of the 2017 BBC production ‘Astronauts: Do you have what it takes?’ Suzie Imber. Due to limited space we are only able to offer two places per student and this includes siblings.

On the launch day students should attend school as normal and we will walk across to the Airbus Foundation Discovery Space together. Students must bring a packed lunch and drinks with them for the day. If your child is in receipt of free school meals a packed lunch will be provided.

The outline for the day is as follows:

9.00am: Students meet at the school carpark gate and walk to Airbus accompanied by Thomas Alleyne staff

9:30am: Arrival at Airbus

10.00 – 11.00am: Launch Event (with parents)

11.00am: Introductory session and lunch

12:30: Motivational session with Kris Akabusi

3:30pm: Debrief

4.00pm: Dismissal from the Discovery Space
